Acrylic on Canvas, 16x20
2025
Earlier this year, I tore my ACL at work, and my ski season was over. I can now only dream of making turns in the mountains, so capturing the feeling on canvas is the next best thing. This piece was created using a reference photo I took during a tour of Jake’s Peak last spring. The stark contrast of light and shadow on Mt. Tallac caught my eye, and it inspired me to explore a highly saturated color palette to express the warmth and joy that I feel when spring skiing.
